The Story of Mira

Once, in the heart of Turkey, a young maiden and her beloved lived in harmony under the shade of a majestic olive tree. The tree flourished with silver leaves and golden fruit, mirroring the happiness and devotion they shared. Life around them was abundant—songbirds nested in the branches, and even a graceful deer would visit, drawn by the purity of their love.

But as time passed, comfort made them forgetful. The young man, once so attentive, began to take both the maiden and the tree for granted. The rains grew scarce, the soil cracked, and the olive tree began to wither. As its branches drooped, so too did the maiden’s health fade—her spirit weakened, as if the drought in the earth had taken root in her heart.

It was then the deer returned, its eyes carrying a silent truth. The creature stood as a mirror of their bond—fragile, yet still alive. From its quiet presence, the young man realized his fault: that love and life demand constant care, and neglect is the greatest drought of all.

With renewed devotion, he tended to the olive tree—watering its roots, sheltering it from the sun, and whispering promises of care. Slowly, the tree revived, its branches stretching toward the sky once more. The olives ripened, and from them he pressed a golden oil. With each drop he offered the maiden, her strength returned, her spirit blossomed, and their happiness was restored.

From then on, the deer remained close, a living symbol of love reborn and of the lesson that true devotion keeps both hearts and nature alive.
